Jitro Czech Children's Choir

Jitro is an award-winning choir from the Czech Republic. The choir tours regularly in many European, Asian and American countries. Jitro takes part in international music festivals and cooperates with philharmonic orchestras. Prof. Jiri Skopal, PhD. - Artistic director and conductor
Artistic director and conductor Professor Jiri Skopal, Ph.D. is associated with the the Czech Girls' Choir (Jitro) since 1977. In 1982, he also formed a boys' choir. Professor Skopal has been a teacher, professor and the head of the Department of Music at University of Hradec Kralove. He has also published essays and choir education textbooks. Professor Skopal is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including his selection by the American Biographical Institute as "Man of the Year" in 1993, honoring his outstanding musical accomplishments. In the year 2000, he was the very first person to be awarded the prestigious prize "Primus Inter Pares" by the City of Hradec Kralove for his outstanding contributions to the regional culture.
Assoc. Prof. Michal Chrobak
Pochazi z Olomouce (1951), kde take zacal se studiem klavirni hry a absolvoval studijni obor hudebni vychova na Filozoficke fakulte Univerzity Palackeho (1969-1975). Zaroven se venoval klavirni hre na Statni konzervatori v Brne. V roce 1977 byl prijat ke studiu na klavirni oddeleni Janackovy akademie muzickych umeni v Brne, kde absolvoval pod vedenim doc. J. Smykala (1981). Od roku 1976 vyucuje klavirni hru na hudebni katedre Univerzity Hradec Kralove, kterou take od roku 1994 uspesne vede. Jeho jmenovani docentem (1998) klavirni hry je akademickym ocenenim odpovedne, citlive a obetave umelecko-pedagogicke prace. Solove koncerty zastinuje jeho soustavna korepetitorska a koncertni soucinnost s kralovehradeckym sborem Jitro na koncertnich cestach po celem svete a v nahravacich studiich, ktera podstatne prispiva k umeleckemu profilu telesa.
Mgr. Lucie Gregorovic Farova - Jitro school director and conductor
She graduated from the Conservatory of Pardubice (2002 – 2009) in the fields of organ play (in Mgr. Václav Uhlir’s class) and conducting (in the class led by Doc. Ing. Vlastislav Novak, Mgr. Jaroslav Brych and Mgr. Jaromir M. Krygel). In 2011, she graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of Hradec Králové in the fields of choir conducting and teaching music at secondary schools. From 2005 to 2008, she led preparatory choirs at the Pardubice Children Choir Iuventus Cantans. From 2006 to 2009, she also taught piano at the music school in Pardubice, Havlickova street. In September 2008, she joined the children‘s choir Jitro in Hradec Kralove (led by its artistic director, prof. Jiří Skopal) in the capacity of a junior choirmaster, and she is still the head of its preparatory departments (Skrivanek, Vlci Maky) and also conducts the main Jitro choir. Since 2010, she has been the director of the Jitro music school in Hradec Kralove.
